iPhone 12: what it looks like and what specifications it has

Tonight was the launch of the new iPhone 12, 12 Mini, Pro and Pro Max models. In addition, the second generation of Homepod was launched, but the return of the long-forgotten Magsafe was announced!

We have a lot to talk, so let's get started!

Homepod Mini

Less than 5 minutes from the start of the presentation, we were shown the first device of the evening. This is the Homepod Mini, the second generation in its series.
It comes in black and white.

In the presentation it is praised for its very good sound, but I am skeptical about it because it is a small speaker, anyway.

The most important part of his presentation is that the Mini works very well with HomeKit, Apple's Smart Home package. It can be used to adjust the temperature, turn off the lights, etc.

Its price will be $ 99 and will be available for pre-order from October 16.

Before reaching the new iPhones, Tim Cook informs us that the new phones will have 5G for the first time !!! It also tells us that the iPhone 11 was the best-selling phone last year and that Apple has started a partnership with the US network, Verizon.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini

What you need to know is that these 2 phones are identical in specifications and colors, the only differences being the price and size (iPhone 12 Mini is a little smaller).

They will come in the following colors: blue, green, Product RED, white.

They will have the so-called Super Retina XDR screens.

iPhone 12 has a diagonal of 6.1 inches, and 12 Mini of 5.4 inches. They have 2 times more pixels than the iPhone 11.

A new thing that we find in all launched iPhones is the Ceramic Shield which is, according to Apple, a material made in collaboration with Corning that should protect your phone screen 4 times better against falls.

As I said above, Apple has implemented 5G technology in its phones. They have started partnerships with all the telephone operators in the world, in order to improve the 5G network.

iPhone 12 and 12 Mini come with the A14 Bionic processor (exactly the one on the iPad Air). It has 6 cores and 11.8 billion transistors.

Both come with a wide camera (12 mp, f/1.6, 2x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom) and an ultra wide camera (12 mp, f/2.4).

A great novelty is the reinvention of the beloved Magsafe on MacBooks. This time he comes to the iPhone and looks like this:

For those who don't know what Magsafe is, this is a magnetic port that first appeared on Macbooks. It was used for charging, but was replaced by USB C. But it's back on the iPhone!

And yes ... the charger will no longer be present on iPhones either ...

The price of the 12 will start at $799, and the price of the Mini will start at $699.

We believe that the iPhone 12 Mini will be the best-selling phone of the year, just as the XR was 2 years ago.

iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max:

As with the smaller siblings, the Pro and Pro Max are identical in terms of specifications, but differ in size.

They come in the following colors: Silver, Graphite, Gold, Pacific Blue.

A redesign made to these models are the edges, which are made glossy after a special treatment.

The new flagships come with the same screen as the 12 and 12 Mini. Instead, the new Pros are hailed as the first phones that could easily replace a professional camera and a video camera. No Apple! No phone can play better video and photo quality than a D-SLR, for example!

You can see the cameras specifications below:

The iPhone 12 Pro has a 6.1-inch screen, and the Pro Max has a 6.7 inch screen. Unfortunately, Apple has not added a high refresh rate to improve screen usage.

Another very interesting novelty is the LiDAR sensor, which is a laser wave projector that improves the experience in AR applications. Apple will also use this sensor for autofocus.

This technology first appeared on the iPad Pro.

The price of the new Pros will be $999 and for the Pro Max it will be $1099. Pre-orders can be made from October 16.
After presenting the prices of all the iPhones currently on sale, the live ends from the famous "Steve Jobs" amphitheater.

Well, it could be even worse ... but still, we all expect a screen of at least 90 Hz and a fingerprint sensor on the start button, being very useful now, when Face ID does not work with a mask.

Overall, it was a well-planned event!
